The temple of TAKEDA SHINGEN

This temple has a 13 Floor tower which was built in honor of general Shingen. His wartime helmet is on display in the temple.
The Fuji highlands are located between Nagano and Gifu prefecture and are 1,739 meters above sea level. All the mountains are covered with bamboo.
There are almost 100 major mountains in Japan and from the top of the Fuji highlands one can see more than 23 of Japan's magnificent mountains. Such as the Northern and Southern Alps, Mt. Ena and the Ibuki mountains.
Bangakusou located between Mountain Ena and the the Fujimidai highlands is one of the highlights of the area. Banngakusou is run by Achi village and the city of Nakatsugawa.
  Today all climbers and travelers are welcome at Bangakusou. In addition, Bangakusou is a great place for outdoor education.
  This cherry tree is where the famous General 源義経(Minamoto) tied his horse on his way to Osyu.
From Ena mountain it is just a 9 minutes gondola ride to the beautiful Fuji highland resort.From the green of spring to the snow of winter Heavens Sonohara offers an array of activities for everyone.
In 1936 Kumagai Motoichi bought his first camera and began photographing his life as a farmer. History is revealed through his photographs which record everyday life and spirituality in great detail. Kumagai, just an ordinary farmer, took pictures for 50years. His photographs are of great importance to Japan because of their unique and natural images of rural life. Ena is the Southernmost beautiful mountain in the Central Alps. It is 2,191 meters above sea level between Nakatsugawa in Gifu prefecture and Achi village in Nagano prefecture. During the Edo period it was the most well know mountain in Mino (old country in japan). In 1893 the Meji era, Mount Ena and the surrounding mountains became known as the Japanese Alps.
